Batteries is a hot topic and can be a bespoke answer depending on individual power requirements and patterns. One thing is for sure, as the price of electricity rises, batteries make a lot more financial sense. One option is to future proof by fitting a hybrid or ‘battery ready’ solar inverter and monitoring how much power is being exported back to the grid over time.

Often when a customer sees they are sending 60-70% of their solar generation back to the grid it makes sense to store this power in a battery and consume it later, instead of buying it “on-demand” from the grid for a considerable price

Systems of 10 panels or less are normally pre-approved for grid connection. This makes for a quick and easy process and can significantly speed up installation lead times. If you want to investigate larger systems we can apply for permission on your behalf, it can sometimes take a few months to gain approval (and it’s not always given) so it’s important to start this process early in the journey if you want a larger system

If possible, the optimum azimuth for solar to receive the most sunlight throughout the day is a south facing roof. Other options are to split the panels across two roofs, for example, east and west facing. Our software will calculate the optimum position for your panels and advise how much electricity you can expect to produce throughout the year

Solar panels are wired in series, so if one experiences shade then the electricity production of the whole system can be reduced greatly. We work carefully in the design process to make sure shading is considered, and use software to determine the best location available. We can also deploy tools like optimisers which are installed on each panel to allow them to behave independently
